When I think of Summer 2006, I will never forget how I've affected the lives of over 2000 kids

"That's too bad, what are you gonna do about it?"

"You wanna hear what some other people have tried?"

-Invaluable words I've learnt to use on people/kids whenever they try to get whiney on me.

Portland

I am now in Portland and it is so beautiful here. Lots of hiking and delicious healthy food.

Okay, call me lame but I need to do this.

That age old question: Can a guy and a girl be "just friends" ?

I went to an all-girls (convent, Catholic) school for a good 11 years of my life. I never knew how it was to compete with a member of the opposite sex. As far as I was concerned, I was capable of anything. Nothing is off limits, I didn't have to compete for that Head Prefect post (let's face it, if you're a Co-Ed school ... there's no way they'd give that post to a girl) I didn't have to worry about not making that debate team (who wants an "over emotional" girl on their team, right guys?) and best of all I was never told that I couldn't do something just because I am a girl. Okay, so my point is ... even with the 11 years of schooling at an all-girl's institution I didn't think that I would be awkward around guys. I love sports, they love sports ... I check out girls, they do that too. They'd be plenty to talk about already right. So it's all good, I thought to myself  "I'll get along with guys just fine. I'll be their buddy!" Not so much.

The last time I became someone's buddy ... we started dating. We're still dating. Been dating for almost 5 years. So that question again, "Can a guy and a girl be just friends?"

I don't know. How can you tell if the other person likes you unless he/she comes out with it right? I mean, that can be a little tricky ... no? I guess, most people just thread that fine line and are contented with not knowing.

Tell me what you think.

What a week in sports ...

World Cup 2006, NBA Finals, French Open and JJ Redick getting arrested for drunk driving.

I have been watching 2 World Cup qualifying-round matches per day on average. It's too early to tell but Germany's looking pretty good. Maybe they'll have the home ground advantage. Personally ... I am rooting for a Latin American country to win, Brazil maybe? Who knows, soccer can be fickle.
